Did you know that the Akron Area YMCA has a variety of camp choices that they offer, year-round? It’s all up to the parent and child as to what they choose, and the opportunities are endless…

“Campers embark upon a learning adventure in a secure environment and bridge the gap between childhood and adulthood,” Doreen Vanchoff, Director of Marketing and Communications for the YMCA, said of their camps.

Along with having fun, kids grow in character as well.

Summer camp is a great time for kids to make new friends, gain independence, learn new things and have a whole lot of fun. And there is nothing quite like the local YMCA Camp.

Have you ever sent your kids to camp, or even considered it? You might after discovering all that goes on there.

Some exciting things planned for campers this summer include horseback riding, shooting a bow and arrow, climbing, kayaking, canoeing, archery, bb guns, swimming, and learning about nature.

“And along with the fun activities we teach kids core values, such as responsibility, caring, honesty and respect. We focus on that. It gives a deeper understanding of what it means to grow in character, not just skills,” Taylor Ellis, Girls Village Director, said.

Countryside Conservancy Connects Local Farmers and Consumers Year-Round – 2013-06-07

This new “craze” has been building across our nation, and area, for good reasons; the obvious being it helping build up local economies, supporting local businesses, and providing healthier, fresher food options.Countryside Conservancy

The Countryside Conservancy (CC), a non-profit organization, came together to provide an outlet for local farmers and entrepreneurs to sell their goods – connecting farmers to the community.
